Redesigning the Suspicious Transfer Report Interface for Compliance
OVERVIEW
The compliance team needed a better way to detect suspicious transfer patterns and report them to regulators. I was tasked with designing the STR interface to reduce friction and support faster, more accurate investigations.
THE PROBLEM
There was no dedicated interface for STR investigations. Compliance officers had to piece together insights by switching between the legacy Transfers UI and the CRM records. The initial approach proposed is to stack new STR features on top of the already cluttered Transfer interface, risking added complexity through additional fields and tabs.
SOLUTION
I focused on updating the styling to reflect the current brand guidelines and simplifying the layout to enhance usability. Improvements include better search, filtering, and navigation. This will reduce cognitive load and align the tool with how investigators actually work.
Unified Search + Flexible Filters
A single search bar with filter options replaces multiple fields. This keeps the interface clean while allowing investigative depth. This approach allows scalability without reintroducing clutter.
